On Tuesday , 3rd September GOC Care presented an excellent information session on the Neurological and Psychological Facts about Dementia at our Wellness Centre in Bundall on the Gold Coast, during the St Anna’s Seniors Group meeting.
The over 55 seniors and their family carers who attended the talk were very impressed with the quality of the speaker, Dr Nicole Walker (UQ Research Fellow and Psychologist) and her ability to explain a very scientific and challenging topic in plain , easy to understand language.
Greek interpreter, Eleni Samios was also applauded for her ability to translate the talk in Greek in such a way that enhanced the listener’s understanding and appreciation of the subject matter.
Dr Walker is currently involved in research at the University of Queensland investigating ways to support older people living with dementia and their care partners adjust to life without driving.
